Dynamic Energy Change in Europe

Across Europe, there is a rapid transformation of energy sources. Traditional coal-fired power plants are giving way to renewable sources, mainly solar energy. Photovoltaics is developing dynamically, and modern panels with a capacity of approx. 580 W allow for the rapid modernization of our energy system. Unfortunately, with the development of this technology, a burning problem appears - recycling used photovoltaic panels.

The Challenges of Recycling PV Panels

To date, more than 1 TW of photovoltaic capacity has been installed worldwide. It is estimated that the total number of panels – both rooftop and ground-mounted – could reach 2.5 billion. The lack of advanced module recycling technologies could lead to a veritable mountain of waste by 2050. According to IRENA estimates, by 2030, the continent will have around a quarter of a million tonnes of used panels, and by 2050, this figure could exceed 200 million tonnes worldwide.

Why Recycle PV Panels?

Recycling is key to the additional benefits of solar power plants. The secondary raw materials recovered from panels are gaining value every year, driven by growing demand from global panel production. Analysts predict that the value of recovered materials could exceed $15 billion by 2050.

Our Solution – GRSS ONE

GRSS ONE is a comprehensive solution for entities involved in the recycling of used photovoltaic panels. Our patented technology enables:
Testimonial

High degree of raw material recovery:

According to the WEEE directive, electronic devices, including PV panels, must have a recovery efficiency of at least 85%, of which 80% of the raw materials must be reused.

Waste minimization:

The process of processing the used panel using GRSS ONE technology allows for the production of materials ready for further recycling. The amount of waste after the process is reduced to a level that has no significant impact on the entire recycling cycle.
